Topic: SEASONS OF INTENSE LOVE: THE LOVE OF GOD
Text: John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Sincerely speaking, there is no other verse in the Bible so succinctly summarizes God’s relationship with humanity and the way of salvation like this very verse! We consider John 3:16 as the “theme verse” for the entire Bible. It tells us of the love God has for us and the extent of that love—so great that He sacrificed His only Son on our behalf. Glory be to God forever.
This verse boldly declares that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, will be saved. The message isn’t complicated because is self explanatory. The verse guarantees us the glorious hope of eternal life in heaven through the love of God and death of Jesus Christ.
This passage reveals the boundless depth of Jesus Christ’s sacrificial love and the ultimate pattern of selflessness that He modeled for us His followers. It is part of John’s broader teaching on the importance of maintaining a proper attitude of love, one that demonstrates love through acts of kindness and mercy as proof of our genuine faith.
Apostle John encapsulates the essence of Christian love. As believers, we come to understand what real love is by observing the remarkable example of our Savior: “This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us
But the question we do always ask, is why did Christ Jesus had to go through such a horrific death?why was He humiliated, stripped naked before both His followers and His critics, tossed to and fro like a criminal in the hands of men? Why would He have to step down from eternity to this filthy earth domain? Why was this necessary for the creator of heavens and the earth to do all of these? This among many questions I would like us to ponder on this season.’
God’s love is bigger than the hatred of men, is so powerful than death cos He defeated death with love. Jesus, the only king who won all His battles without killing anyone!
We are eternally grateful to God for this kind of love. Glory be to Jesus our Lord and Savior forever and ever Amen.

- LORD, Thank you for your amazing love and your sacrifices to the extent of dying on the cross for me.
- LORD, help me to be able to love you back with all my heart, my soul, my strength and all of my entire being. Thank you Lord.
