Topic: THE SACRIFICE OF GOD’S LOVE (GOOD-FRIDAY)
Text: Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
These days are the most significant in the history of mankind. Without the birth, death and Christ’s resurrection, humanity would have been lost to condemnation forever. Jesus, the greatest liberator the world has ever known has given Himself as a sacrifice today for us. No greater love than this!
Good Friday, also called “Holy Friday,” is the Friday immediately preceding Easter Sunday. It is traditionally celebrated as the day of Jesus’ crucifixion. God allowed the hatred, the conspiracy, the false accusations, the sham, the trials, and the murder of His Son on Good Friday. God used the basest desires of evil men to accomplish the greatest good: Jesus our Lord, bore the sin of all, and made intercession for the transgressors.
We call it Good Friday or Holy Friday, though it looks evil when we see our Lord go through this painful and horrific death of the cross yet it has pleased God that this be done to redeem us to Himself. This love sacrifice cannot be explained. It is beautiful beyond description, powerful for words and is too wonderful for comprehension. Great God!
The death of Christ, commemorated on Good Friday, was unlike any other death. Jesus’ death today is a sacrifice for sin: “For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin.
The message today is simple; Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior gave Himself as a sacrifice by accepting to die on the cross for the redemption of mankind. It is the will of God, and such love is unexplainable . Glory be to Jesus our Lord!!!
Prayer
- Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for me for you didn’t want heaven without me.
- Lord, forgive me and wash me clean with your precious blood.
- Strengthens me all the time with your grace to withstand every trials and to always remain faithful and victorious.
- Thank you Lord Jesus.
