Ministering: PASTOR RISKU

Text: Mark 9:28 – 29

And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. [kjv]

In the Christian faith, revelation is a major driving force to power. Because, revelation explains takes you beyond religious rituals or traditions that has no biblical bases.

The subject, prayer and fasting has been one of the most misunderstood subjects not just in Christianity but to other religions. So people fast and pray but with limited knowledge.

Mark 9 records a remarkable episode of Jesus casting out an evil spirit that His disciples were previously unable to cast out. But glory be to God , later on, Jesus healed the boy and the boy was made whole.

Later, the disciples privately asked Jesus why they could not cast out the unclean spirit (Mark 9:28), and Jesus replied that this particular kind could only come out “by prayer and fasting”

Please read Mark 9:14-29 for better studying.

To be honest, there are situations that demands intense prayer and fasting. And It is a season or time set apart in which people would literally donate themselves to devotions and most times forfeit something valuable, could be food, leisure or their conveniences or even resources in other to access Divine assistance or some supernatural help.
People momentarily let go of a thing they cherish more in exchange to something more significant. And this is a revelation a believer must not ignore.

Although, fasting in Scripture is almost and always an abstaining from food, but there are other ways to fast. Anything given up temporarily in order to focus all your attention on God, can be considered a fast. (1 Corinthians 7:1-5).

Fasting should be limited to a set time, especially when fasting from food and water. Fasting is not intended to punish the flesh, but to redirect attention to God.
Therefore, fasting and prayer is a powerful tool against the devil especially when it’s done in revelation.

The book of Acts records believers fasting before they make important decisions (Acts 13:2; 14:23). Fasting and prayers are often linked together Luke 2:37; 5:33. We cannot successfully separate a life of prayer from fasting if we desire an astounding result in some situations.

Amazingly, fasting and prayer is tool and a great weapon in the spirit realm. “”All religions and their gods recognize that truth “”
If this is accurately true, then we are to embrace fasting and prayer as a key to unlocking mysteries.

I decree and declare a deeper understanding and revelation of fasting and prayer.

PRAYER:
Lord , let every mystery around me that does not reflect the glory of God be terminated.
