5 DAYS OF FEBRUARY MONTHLY PRAYER AND FAST (DAY 3)
PRAYER FOCUS: LORD SHOW ME YOUR GLORY
Text: Exodus 33.17-18
And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
Moses is one of the most prominent figures in the Old Testament just as Abraham The Father of the Faithful and the recipient of God’s unconditional covenant of grace to God’s people. God specifically chose Moses to lead the Israelites from captivity in Egypt to salvation in the Promised Land. Moses is recognized as the mediator of the Old Covenant and is commonly referred to as the giver of the Law. Moses, though very controversial yet was the principal author of the Pentateuch, the foundational books of the entire Bible. Moses’ life is definitely worth examining.
Moses seeks a deeper experience with God even though he had encountered God many time even as a burning bush. Moses, without a doubt was successful which in modern Christianity that would have made many overfamiliar with God, in other words, satisfied with God, wanting nothing more of God. Moses pleaded with God that he should see the glory of God.
The question we may ask is, why are we desperate for the manifest glory of God???
The answer is simple;
Firstly, in the text Moses is looking for God’s goodness, mercy and power.
Moses had found grace with God, but he needed more than just that grace.
Let me make it clearer the differences between Grace and Glory;
Grace of God CAUSES us to do or serve. Grace makes us to work for God , it helps us to serve better. While Glory Makes or Transform us .
When the glory of God is made manifest in our lives , we are automatically transformed beyond recognition. Our live becomes a proof of His almightiness.
It is possible for someone to have grace and minister or serve yet themselves are not transformed or change. Moses needed a proof that God is with him. I strongly feel this should be our heart cry.
